Have Questions About the Essential Oils in Our Soap? Find the Answers Here
We receive a lot of questions from people who want to know more about the best natural soap on the market. We want to make sure we address your questions about our cold processed soap ingredients and the soap making process. Thank you for your inquiries. Here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often.
How do you make your handmade soap?
We make our cold processed soap from a secret recipe that we acquired and perfected many years ago. Although we can't reveal our whole process, we can tell you that we blend essential oils with other ingredients and combine them with a sodium hydroxide solution. This is stirred together to create the soap. Along with our essential oils, we add our natural fragrance oils, herbs, spices and botanicals and pour the solution into our handcrafted molds. After 48 hours the soap is removed from the mold, hand cut and racked for curing. Our soap cures for several weeks before being wrapped and ready to sell.
What ingredients do you use?
See the Soap Products page to see the ingredients that are included in each soap we make. We use essential oils in our soap along with many spices and herbs that are great for your skin. Some things we don't use in our soaps are artificial colorants, preservatives or chemicals that are harmful to the environment.
Can I use your cold processed soap to wash my hair?
Of course. You can wash your hair, dishes, body, pet, whatever you desire with our soaps. Our soaps create a thick lather that you'll love and they don't leave any annoying residue behind. You'll feel squeaky-clean and smell fabulous.
How is handmade soap different from commercial soap?
Commercial soap is not made using the cold process method. This is an old fashioned method of soap making that create and retains glycerin. Glycerin moisturizes and nourishes your skin. Unlike many commercial soaps we do not use any petroleum products. Also many commercial soaps remove the natural glycerin and are actually considered a detergent, not a soap.
I have sensitive skin, can I use your handmade soap?
Yes, in fact you are better off using our soap because it is best for people with sensitive skin to use natural soap products . It's very mild and it can improve the condition of your skin.
Do you mass produce your soap?
No. Our essential oil enriched soaps are made in small batches. We like to make smaller batches of soap frequently to ensure that our customers always receive a fresh product.
